How do I find the right upholstery nail for me?

So many upholstery nails!

We have a huge selection of domed upholstery nails at Heico-Direct, but fear not, finding exactly what you want from the extensive options is quick and easy, and here we tell you how.

Even though we do supply more intricate decorative nails, square nails, crystal nails and even vintage style nails, the most popular nails used in upholstery are domed nails.  This style of nail is split into 2 distinct types: low domed and high domed. The difference between them is simple, the low domed nails have a slightly less pronounced dome than the higher domed nails.

Which nail is most suitable for your project is down to you, so take a look at both styles on our site to find which one works best for you.  Still not sure? Our high domed nails are our most popular and provide a very distinct finish, but the choice is yours.

How do I find the right upholstery nail for me?

With so many finishes and sizes available, how do you find the perfect nail for your project? Our site makes this challenge simple to resolve.  Lets say you have decided you want a high domed nail, simply go to ‘Upholstery Nails’ on the home page and then select ‘High Domed Upholstery Nails’.

Now you are faced with all the finishes that are available, our selection includes Antique, Brass Plated, Nickel, Bronze Renaissance and Old Gold Speckled, and many more besides.

Once you have chosen your finish, click on that nail and you will be presented with 3 drop down menus; Head Diameter, Shank Length and Pack Size.

Click on the Head Diameter drop down menu, you will now see all the available head sizes in that finish, along with the nails reference. For example, ’10.5mm (1660 nail)’.

Once you have selected the head size you want, go to the Shank Length drop down menu to see your options. Most nails will only have one shank length available, but some will have different lengths or serrated shanks available.

Once you have selected your shank length you can now select the required pack size. All our nails are supplied in standard box quantities, usually ranging from 100 pcs up to 2000 pcs, or in some cases 25,000 bulk boxes. But we also supply our nails in smaller pack sizes, usually 25pcs or 50 pcs, so you can order exactly how many you actually need.

If the shank length is more important than the head size, simply go straight to the Shank Length drop down menu in your chosen finish to see your options. Once you have chosen a shank length, go back to the head diameter drop down to see the available sizes with the shank length you require.

Once you have selected all your options the prices will be displayed for your chosen nails, including any multibuy price breaks. Pop the required amount in your basket and you are all set.

How do I find the nails I ordered previously?

If you have a Trade Account with us you can log into your account and see your previous orders, which will show details of what you have ordered.

Alternatively, if you still have the box or pack the nails were supplied in, just go to the search bar on the home page and type in the sku (the products item number, starting with D-).

Several search results will appear (this is because the website is showing all the options available for that nail size). Just click on any one of these results and use the drop down menus to find your nail.

The description on the label will advise you the type of nail, the shank length, finish and box qty, for instance ‘1660 x 13mm Bronze Renaissance, Box 1000’. You can correspond this to the reference in the head diameter drop down menu, the shank length and the pack size. Once you have chosen these options the item you have displayed should have the same sku number as the label on the box or pack. You now have the nail you ordered previously.
