Following on from the recent successful Design Competition to promote the launch of our exciting new 'Powder Coated' range of decorative nails, the winning students were awarded their certificates at the annual Furniture & Design Awards at the London Metropolitan University on 17th June.
The competition was run in conjunction with the London Metropolitan University (LMU) and the Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers (AMUSF) for the university's upholstery students to design and make a scaled down version of a chair incorporating these innovative nails.
Attendees at the ceremony included Master of The Worshipful Company of Upholders, Julian Squire; Training Director of the AMUSF, Wendy Shorter and Vice Chancellor of the LMU, Professor Malcolm Gilles along with Dave Read and Stuart Elmy on behalf of Heico Fasteners UK.
The winning design was the entry of Hannah Stanton, who can be seen above receiving her award from Dave Read and Stuart Elmy. Runner Up awards also went to Helen Wilding and Carol Mandeville.
We would like to take this opportunity to again congratulate Hannah, Helen and Carol on their winning designs and also to thank all the students that took part in the competition as well as Malcolm Hopkins from the LMU for inviting us to attend this prestigious awards ceremony.
